PROJECTS
Many of our projects land somewhere between the realms of contemporary art and community-based work.
With backgrounds in literature, we tend to place an emphasis on the sound and flow of the text. We also work closely with each client to ensure our language decisions fit their unique profile and key audiences. Among our considerations are inclusive and accessible language, regional cues, generational differences, and specific style guide preferences.
In 2024, we worked on the Spanish/English translation of the workbook/catalog An Exchange of Shifting Atmospheres / Un intercambio de atmósferas cambiantes by curators Ricky Yanas and Leslie Moody Castro for Tiger Strikes Asteroid Philadelphia.
In 2025, we did the English translation of the artist book Rains, Winds, Snowfalls: The Yucatecan Militiamen in the Battles of the Gulf of Mexico, 1835-1840, written by historian José Ángel Koyoc Kú and artist Pablo Tut for the Visual Arts Center, University of Texas at Austin.
Other translation projects include art workshops for Museo de las Américas (Denver, CO); co-developing the Punto Urban Art Museum’s bilingual Mural Ambassador Program (Salem, MA); interactive training games and informational videos for Innovative Media Research and Extension (New Mexico State University); and various community-driven projects, publications, and international conference material for the Othering & Belonging Institute (University of California, Berkeley).
